Top 3 things we should know about you?
Last year, I had the honor of representing Tubbs in the ambassador program and this year, I am teaming up with my snowshoeing partner and husband, Kelly. Together, we are proud to be in the Tubbs Snowshoes Ambassador family as a team. He and I took up snow shoeing after moving to the mountains for our love of the outdoors and more specifically, skiing. We now put more days on the snowshoe trail then we do on the slopes. We truly live the mountain lifestyle year round, snowshoeing and skiing in the winter and hiking, biking, river sports in the “off-season.” Kelly is an avid archery hunter and I have a regular yoga practice at the local studio. I am known to bust out a yoga pose in snow shoes and it can be done!
Favorite aspect of snowshoeing?
It keeps us fit! Additionally, it brings the kid out of us, gets us out and moving during winter, away from the crowds and allows us to enjoy the beauty of nature.
Favorite drink while snowshoeing?
We always carry plenty of water but hot drinks are really soothing when we summit the trail. Cup of soup, coffee or for special occasions, hot spiced wine.
Favorite trail snack?
Recently, we have been packing cream cheese, rice crackers and smoked salmon. It is an extremely tasty combination and packed with protein to fuel us for the balance of the outing!
Dream snowshoe trip?
We are living our dream in the mountains of Colorado but would love to venture to other parts of the world, perhaps Canada, Norway or Switzerland.
Anything else we should know?
Kelly is a land surveyor, map aficionado and the trail blazer for the team. Jan is a building manager, enthusiastic planner and the motivator for the team. We just bought a GoPro and are looking forward to capturing the action shots from our trail adventures.
