Bill, Trail Walking Ambassador
Entering my second year as a Tubbs Ambassador, I am using the new men’s Boundary Peak snowshoes for my snow adventures. I started snowshoeing over 20 years ago, starting with basic wooden shoes, then graduating through several different brands of snowshoes and bindings. I was very excited to get to try the new Boundary Peak ‘shoes this season. I love the ease of strapping in and out, and the shoes have worked great in packed and unpacked conditions including climbing up and down ski slopes.
I use my snowshoes in two primary ways, for exercise and for photography. Sometimes my adventures include both, sometimes not. My primary exercise activity is to snowshoe up some of our local ski resorts here in Summit County Colorado. I go early in the morning before the lifts are open and the runs are covered in skiers and riders. Having these mountains and resorts to myself is amazing, and wildlife sightings unheard of. Other times I head out into the woods or up high above timberline and search for photo opportunities. All of these photos are from November and December of 2015.
Moose are quite common here in Summit County Colorado, but to find two bull moose together was a special treat.
