Randall’s Island Park Alliance

The Natural Areas Team on Randall’s Island was able to host over 500 people for its annual orienteering event due in large part to Tubbs Snowshoes’ generous donation of nearly 200 compasses! The Randall’s Island Treasure Hunt was attended by New York City residents of all ages who were able to get outside and learn how to use maps and compasses to navigate their way around various scenic areas of the park. Everyone had an amazing time and we would not have been able to accommodate everyone without those additional compasses!

Participants were also thrilled to hear that RIPA was selected as the Get Outdoors Program recipient! Families expressed interest and excitement at being able to bring kids out for snowshoeing and we are looking forward to being able to offer youth in our surrounding communities another option for outdoor fitness and environmental exploration. We are all looking forward to our first snowfall! Thank you Tubbs!
