Flotation

Torsion Deck

Torsion Deck
Tubbs’ advanced Torsion Deck™ design adapts to variable snow conditions underfoot. The decks allow torsional articulation throughout the body of the snowshoe, enhancing traction, biomechanics and comfort on uneven terrain.

FLEX Tail

FLEX Tail
The ergonomically and biomechanically designed FLEX Tail absorbs shock from heel strike, reducing the amount of stress on your joints and allowing you to snowshoe farther, longer and with less stress on your body.

Soft Strike

Soft Strike
The Soft Strike zone on the FLEX NRG works with the FLEX Tail to absorb shock and reduce stress on joints and muscles. The advanced ergonomic design not only improves comfort, but also aids in weighted traction under the heel, as the larger Snow Brake traction element is fixed to the Soft Strike zone. Finally, Soft Strike makes for a quieter overall experience while snowshoeing.

Articulation

Rotating Toe Cord - Rotation Limiter

Rotating Toe Cord - Rotation Limiter
Rotating Toe Cord design enables the tail of the snowshoe to drop and snow to shed off the tail, reducing cardio-respiratory strain by 7%. The underfoot pivot point also allows the toe traction teeth to bite deeply into the snow when weighted. A rotation limiter prevents over-rotation and shin bang.

Control

180 Pro Binding

180 Pro Binding
Our most robust 180™ Series binding, the gender-specific 180Profeatures extended rigid Control Wings™, a locking heel strapand a contoured, padded upper for pressure-free comfort andadded warmth.

Traction

Traction Rails

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Women's FLEX NRG Snowshoe:

These snowshoes are great; however one flaw which is extremely annoying is that the strap keepers don't hold the strap in place. It's the extra strap that's there after you tighten them up. The plastic keepers do not hold them in place so they flap around and I get worried I'm going to trip on them; however, that hasn't happened. They are super lightweight and very ergonomic as my old snowshoes hurt my knees and these don't at all! The strap that goes around the back of the boot hinges on one side but not the other so when you try to get it up over the ridge on the back of the boots, it doesn't always stay right there, just a bit crooked. But it doesn't really affect their performance; again, it's kind of an annoyance. Those keepers on the back strap don't hold the extra strap in place either.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Women's FLEX NRG Snowshoe:

I have worn Tubbs snowshoes for years and years. I thought my previous (10+ year old) pair was great, but the Flex series blows them away. They flex (like the name implies) on the tail to allow for easier range of movement and less stress on your joints. However, my favorite feature is how SUPER easy they are to get on and off. I dare say I could actually handle them (by myself) pregnant (and if you are a mom, you know how tough that can be!) They also cinch up for a great fit easily, which is HUGE. Normally, I find myself messing with the straps of my snowshoes (no matter what brand they are) throughout the trek. These I can put on and count on them to stay on and not need adjusting.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Women's FLEX NRG Snowshoe:

I have used these snowshoes for winter camping trips, day trips, and to access backcountry skiing areas. They have never disappointed and time and again show superior traction in comparison to the snowshoes my friends wear. They are now four years old and I won't be surprised if their life span is greater than ten years.

My only complaint is that it's hard to secure the heel strap if you have small feet. Mine tends to flop around a bit, but it's not a significant distraction or a hazard.

When my sister gave me these snowshoes for Christmas I was skeptical because they're so different from any others I had ever seen. Can't tell you how many times I've told her thanks since I started to use them. And just last week I gave a pair to a friend and I know she's going to love them too!

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Women's FLEX NRG Snowshoe:

On 2/12/12 I used my new snowshoes on my third 5k race. This event was held near Winter Park,CO on rolling terrain with a few inclines. In the past, I used a friend's snowshoes which were old, heavy and starting to fall apart. The straps had to be tightened every 1/2 mile. So this year I bought myself the Flex NRG model and loved them! They are light weight and easy to get on. All you do is hike and enjoy the views. Because of a current shoulder issue, I did not use poles and never had a problem with balance. The bar of teeth that run the length of the shoe and another across keep you very stable. I am 60, 5'6",153# and now look forward to more frequent snowshoe outings!

The bindings are easy to use and once adjusted are quick and easy. Also, I found the snowshoes to be easy on my joints which is a real plus!! I loved my initial snowshoeing experience and can't wait to go again. Thanks for a great product!
