Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
i've owned and used these showshoes for 3 years now. they are a delight. easy to get into, easy to adjust and easy to get out of. best of all, they're light and have awesome traction. the 24" model is great for most snow conditions. i recently bought the 28" (XL) model for deeper snow. they work great, and are still quite light. the flex capability of these snowshoes really helps as does the heel-lift (especially going up a steep hill for an extended distance--it's like climbing stairs with no strain on your calves!). these snowshoes are the best.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
I have been using the Flex Alp snowshoes for about 3 seasons now and I must say that they are the best snowshoe that I have used in any of my adventures.
The Flex Alps offer the mountaineer and backcountry adventurer a lightweight, agile and ergonomically-correct shoe that will offer all the aggressive grip required for any ascent/decent. The flexible deck really helps in conforming to the terrain for better grip and limiting the uncomfortable position that many other shoes place your feet in to grip adequately. The Alps offer an agressive crampon underfoot, along with rails that are designed to effectively grip and limit any fore/aft slippage when climbing/decending.
An often overlooked feature is how well the binding holds the foot and how easy it is to enter and release. Tubbs offers a very effective system that allows boots of all sizes (except for some extremely large winter boots) to be used with this snowshoe. The strapping is quickly adjustable and doesn't put any unnecessary pressure over the foot, but holds over the ball of the foot and straps around the heel to keep the boot fully locked in.
Underfoot, this snowshoe offers a lift bar for those long climbs. Believe me, your calves will thank you! They stay locked in both the upper and lower positions, so you will not have to worry about the bar unexpectedly flipping down while in use.
Overall, these are the best shoes you can buy and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a lightweight, agile and dependable shoe in all conditions. I have used my shoes in all terrains and elevations and I must say that they have never failed me in any way and will continue to take me to many high peaks throughout the winter seasons.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
I bought my flex alps to help me get out on the trails I love during the snowy winter months. I'm glad I did. The flexible design conforms to the varied terrain and the innovative traction system underneath offers superior grip and excellent resistance to slipping. These snowshoes are also so light that I don't even feel them when they are added to my pack and the integrated climbing bar is a must have for all the uphill sections.
Stop shopping - buy these. You won't regret it.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
I really love my Flex ALP. I've been using them for a couple of years (bought them just after the release).
It scratches easily, but didn't break easily! They have seen pretty bad situation without any problem.
Warning: If you weight about 190lbs the 24inch are NOT for you! Back then it was the only version but now with the XL you should take these!
Also, if you wish to use it with a bag, take the Flex ALP XL version!

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
I've owned the Tubbs Flex Alp snowshoes since Dec. 2010, and put them through the toughest, technical terrain of the Adirondack and Catskill High Peaks, the Greens of VT and the Whites of NH. Even slide climbs up hard snow-pack. If one word can describe the Flex Alp, it would be "RELIABLE".
They are absolutely durable, with very aggresive crampons that are like the teeth of a great white shark. When I wear them, I have full confidence I can tackle just about anything I face on any winter hike. I cannot recommend the Flex Alp snowshoes enough!!!

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
DISCLOSURE: I'm a Tubbs Ambassador.
I switched to the FLEX line of shoes three years ago after using the more traditional aluminum frame and fabric decking for many years. I've found the FLEX 'shoes are a much better fit for the often hard and icy conditions in the Cascades.
I primarily use them on steep, windswept peaks where they provide just enough floatation without weighing me down on the approach.
I would not recommend these for deep powder.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
An all around great pair of snowshoes. Great for most general mountain hiking in snow. Some trouble kicking steps and ascending icy patches and hard to control on steep descents.Still working to dial them in on the mountain terrain.Although the binding came loose at critical times it has since worked fine and is relatively easy to use.So far so good..As good as any I have used yet.I'll continue to take them deep into the backcountry and high on the summits!! Thank..,JW

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's FLEX ALP Snowshoe:
Snow shoes do not stay attached very well to my snow boots and the straps keep coming loose which allows my heal to slip out of the snow shoe. When you are cold trying to fix the strap is not much fun.

Merchant response: Hi Ian,
Make sure the rolling heel buckle has locked in one of the holes on the strap. Once it's locked in, it shouldn't go anywhere! Hope that helps!
