Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's Mountaineer Snowshoe:
I have had my Tubbs Mountaineers for 2 years. I use them on mostly rolling, treed, terrain and they have performed very well. I realy like the binding set up and I have had no problems with them at all. We have varying snow conditions so one time it could be crusty & icy and the next time we could have 2 ft. of powder. Packed up I weight about 225 lbs. My snowshoes are 36s. I would not recommend anything less, unless you only do trails or hardpack. They still sink in, in powder, but I can't imagine what smaller shoes would be like. They might weight a little more than some shoes but it is a price I'm prepared to pay for the performance I've gotten from them and I have no problem rcommending them to anyone

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's Mountaineer Snowshoe:
The mountaineer snowshoes are the best out there for the money. They are lightweight and easy to walk in.I use them for walking in fresh powder and climbing hills. They are so comfortable that you don't even know they are on.Last year I rented a pair at a ski resort and, used them all over the mountain.I was very impressed when I went to the top of the mountain and came down without any problems at all.It was below zero the wind was blowing and it was very icy.I was climbing, sidehilling and they didn't slide at all. They have very good traction.I had to buy a pair this year and I'm glad that I did.I also bought my wife a pair in the women's version and,she also likes them alot.If your looking for a good reliable, lightweight snowshoe this is it.

Very disappointed, longtime Tubbs user, bought top of the line Mountaineer model for backcountry. Decking cracked on way home first day out (after three hours). Of course, the "decking" is not covered in the warranty. I am sooooo disappointed in Tubbs!! Shame!

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's Mountaineer Snowshoe:
Last year we had so much ice and snow it made running and walking out of the question for the majority of the winter. I thought it was time to give snowshoeing a try. I have a very large foot for a woman, so I ordered the men's 30". I loved how they kept me from sinking too far in deep snow; they also have excellent traction in icy conditions and seemed very sturdy. They worked very well in semi-hardpack and wet snow. I have only one regret and that is that I wish I'd gotten the 36" as they would no doubt provide better floatation for very light powder.

Having shopped quite thoroughly, and comparing to the other brands, this is the best Mountaineering Snowshoe made. You can tell design is very well thought out and performance evaluation has been thorough.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's Mountaineer Snowshoe:
love the quick and easy bindings but hard to walk in because they sink in the snow so far. Went back to my old pair, they are a little longer and easier to walk in the deep snow.

Good overall shoe. Floats well in powder. It will take you for long where you want to go. Too heavy for long trips.

Comments about Tubbs Snowshoes Men's Mountaineer Snowshoe:
These shoes are money well spent and after this past weekend in the mountains, I know why Outside magazine picked them as the shoe of the year. Awesome is a good word to use. The bindings are truly amazing, easy to get on and off, but more importantly they are comfortable and the flex is quite amazing. I love the bite the monstrous crampons give me. Sidehilling is easy, Descents are a blast. Steep climbs were way easier than they should be. Just an amazing shoe. Nice work Tubbs.

Merchant response: Our warranty does not cover "worn out" decking but if it breaks prematurely on the first time you use it, take it back to the dealer for warranty return. That is a rare and unusual situation.
